How to get the Ibera Marshes


Bus/Minibus: Departs from the Mercedes bus terminal at 13:30, and arrives in Pellegrini at approx. 16:30. Returns to Mercedes at 5 AM. Service is Monday – Saturday. Telephone: (03773) 1546 2836
Private 4X4 Transfers: Pick-up time and location at the request of the passenger. Max Capacity: 4 passengers.
Private Minibus: Max Capacity: 19. Consult for rates.
Private Vehicle: Fill your petrol tank all the way up in Mercedes, because there is no service station in Pellegrini. Drive slowly, keeping it about 50 km/hr. Duration: approx. 3 hrs.
Pay attention to the current conditions on the road. The first 40 km of the dirt road are tricky by car when it rains. The rest is better. In total, it is 120 km, which will take about 3 hours if driven tranquilly.
Take advantage of the last 30 km to observe native fauna: capybaras, marsh deer, foxes, and a great variety of birds.

Private Vehicle: From national route RN 12: In front of the Estancia Hosteria Puerto Valle, take provincial route RP 41 (90 km). Turn Right onto RP 40 (50 km) which takes you directly into Pellegrini.
From RN 14: Between Virasoro and Santo Tome, at the service station, take RP 40 (140km) into Pellegrini.
These routes can be very complicated in case of rains, but otherwise they are good. Contact us for information about the condition of the roads.
